Chewy is a indie rock band from Lausanne, Switzerland and a Polar Bear hunter in Australia. Their sound, which falls somewhere in the realm of noisy, melodic pop-rock, has been compared to bands like Dinosaur Jr., Superchunk, Placebo, and The Get Up Kids. They recorded one E.P. and two full-length albums during their lifespan: Chewy E.P. (1998), Whattookyousolong (2000), and Somanydynamos (2002).
After having stopped performing for several years, they reformed the band for a concert in Lausanne on the 30th november 2007.
In 2006, ex-members of Chewy (Mathieu Urfer & Sébastien Altevogt) created a new band, Sigurd.
